INITIAL TEACHER TRAINING through Davies Lane Teaching School

We are offering an exciting opportunity to graduates who wish to pursue a teaching career and to those who have been working in a career to combine training and learning on the job.

We are Davies Lane Teaching School Alliance working towards improving outcomes for children and young people through collaboration with other institutions and local authority to deliver outstanding training for teachers and high quality professional development.

We are a large 4-form entry primary school with a wealth of expertise. We are able to offer a route into teaching (Initial Teacher Training). The quality training and continuous professional development (CPD) provided develops outstanding practitioners and teachers of the future.

What is the training?

• School Direct Salaried Programme (QTS)
• School Direct Tuition Fee Programme (QTS) 
• School Direct PGCE Programme (QTS) with the University of East London

School Direct Tuition Fee QTS and PGCE with QTS – these routes follow a school based training model with cross phase Primary placements across our network of schools. The course will have a strong focus on pedagogical understanding and you will be trained, mentored and coached by highly experienced classroom practitioners. This is a postgraduate programme and a Postgraduate Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) will be awarded by a Higher Education Institute if applicable.

School Direct Salaried – this route will be a school based training model with cross phase Primary placements across our network of schools. The course has a strong focus on pedagogical understanding and you will be training, mentored and coached by highly experienced classroom practitioners. As a trainee teacher, you will be employed by a school throughout your training. The London District East SCITT (School Centred Initial Teacher Training) will accredit you with your QTS. You must have a sponsor school before you apply. Please state this clearly on your application form.

How do I apply?

1.  Apply via the DfE Apply website.
   

   2. Select Davies Lane Primary School and follow the instructions in order to register and apply         to the programme.

Interviews will take place following applications via DfE Apply. These will take place at Davies Lane Primary School, Davies Lane, London E11 3DR.

What qualification do I need?

You will need a GCSE 4 or above (or an equivalent exam) in English, Maths and Science. You will need a degree at least a 2.2 or above.
