The decision of where to send your children to school is a very difficult one as it will have a long lasting impact on their future. We currently have two children at Davies Lane , who have attended since Reception , and we remain very happy with the choice we made to send them there. We feel that they will be more than prepared for secondary school and the wider world given the excellent education that they receive and the strong values that the school instils.

We have seen our children blossom both academically and socially under the care of dedicated teaching staff who have high expectations but who support children individually so they can become the best they can be. The curriculum is varied and the children have the opportunity to participate in a vast range of extracurricular activities such as sporting events and clubs, charity events, languages, arts and crafts and music to name but a few. There is support for working parents through the provision of breakfast clubs, after school clubs and holiday clubs. There are also numerous opportunities for parents to become more involved with the school through Friends of Davies Lane, regular coffee mornings, Parent Council and volunteering in class or on school trips. Most importantly our children are very happy, are thoroughly enjoying their time at Davies Lane, and actively look forward to going to school each day.)

We feel very proud and privileged to have a child at Davies Lane. We have been amazed that every week brings new educational opportunities and challenges for our son. Our child flourishes from being driven by their bespoke targets and personal challenges, despite classes of 30 or more, individual needs are understood and met. We also relish the frequent chances of involvement with our child’s learning and development but also with the school and staff as a whole - from school trips, Bring Your Parent to School Day, being part of a Parent Council to the fantastic FODL /PTA fetes and events. It is an incredibly daunting task to choose the right school for your child, paving the way for their future. I am so grateful to the staff at the school and that we chose Davies Lane and have never once regretted it.

Davies Lane is a very happy and relaxed place, where you feel all the children are well looked after and cared for. The school is very multi-cultural and children are privileged to learn about different cultures and religions. The staff at the school are very professional and friendly and easy to approach. The school has excellent teaching methods and interesting ways of learning. Children are motivated to excel at all levels. My children enjoy coming to the school and feel safe and happy. I would definitely recommend Davies Lane School

As parents of an autistic child it goes without saying that we had a number of concerns regarding our son’s ability to transition comfortably into a mainstream school. It has been incredibly reassuring that Davies Lane have been able to assemble staff with a wealth of experience to ensure that our son will really blossom and realise his true talents. We have been invited to engage fully with the SEN team from the outset of the transition from pre-school into his first full days at Davies Lane and we can see that he is clearly flourishing already. The facilities available to our son are great but in all honesty it really comes down to the genuine dedication of the whole team which makes all the difference.

My child has received a great deal of support with his speech and language skills at Davies Lane. When he first started the school he was non-verbal. He is now speaking and reading books, I am pleased with how much progress he has made in such a short space of time. I have been supported by the school through regular meetings, I try and attend all the ADS parent coffee mornings. I would definitely recommend Davies Lane School for children with additional needs, they do all they can to help the children reach their potential.

Our family count ourselves as being very lucky to have Davies Lane as our local primary school. I think the ultimate measure of a primary school is how well your child transitions to Y7 and I can say that my eldest child (who has extra learning needs) has made this transition with ease thanks to the strong academic and social skills that he has learned at Davies Lane. Davies Lane is unashamedly strong academically but the curriculum is incredibly broad, exciting and vibrant - full of art, music, drama, sport, science, humanities, language, culture and more! The other thing I most appreciate about the school is its open nature. Senior Staff and teachers are easily accessible to talk to and there are lots of opportunities for parents to come into the school from 'coffee mornings' run by senior staff members to 'bring your parent to school' days. My children love going to Davies Lane and they feel safe and happy there. I would therefore not hesitate to recommend it to any other parent.
