Prefects

Pupil Advocates

Our prefects represent the children of our school. They are chosen by teachers and pupils as exemplary role models to others.

What are the responsibilities of a Prefect?
At Davies Lane Primary, we believe that prefects have a very important role to play in the day to day organisation of our school. As part of their learning, children need to experience duties and responsibilities that come with being a member of a community in order to help them prepare to play an active role as citizens.

Our School Prefects are selected on a basis of continued good merit having consistently proved themselves to be outstanding role models to all pupils in the school. These children have been recognised by the senior leaders and their teachers as caring, courteous and considerate members of the school community who show exceptional politeness and good manners to everybody at all times.

Davies Lane prefects must lead by example at all times in their behaviour, the respect they show to others and their school uniform. They take on many roles and have a number of responsibilities:

  • Being responsible role models for the school
  • Modelling the 5Cs throughout the school day.
  • Encouraging children to walk up and down the stairs calmly and quietly
  • Working with classes during wet break times
  • Showing visitors around the school
